Health Program Here at Fountaine Farms, producing happy healthy puppies is our number one priority. We use the highest quality vaccines and worming medications. Puppies receive their first worming at two weeks of age and are then wormed every month with Pyran 50 until shipped. Due to the humidity here in Missouri, parasites can become quite a problem. Puppies and adults receive Albon and Flagyl in their water to prevent coccidia and giardia. Vaccination start at six weeks of age with Vanguard 5Way and Bordatella and are give every three weeks until shipped or they reach fifteen weeks of age. At twelve weeks they take a trip to our vet for their rabies vaccine. All of are puppies are vet checked before they are shipped to insure that they are healthy. Before shipping all puppies are taken on little trips in their carriers to reduce the stress and to make them familiar with their carrier before shipping. They receive treats each time they return from their trips. Black Gold dog food is our dog food of choice. Information on where you can purchase this food will be attached to the carrier when shipped. This has proven to be the best food we have found. At four weeks of age our puppies are introduce to puppy food and are then put outside during the day, weather permitting. This builds up their knees so that they are not weak. All of our pens and whelping house are cleaned on a daily basis with bleach, detergent and disinfectant. Clean bedding is changed daily in the whelping house where our puppies are housed at night and weekly in our outside kennels. Dishes are changed daily inside the whelping house and weekly outside of the whelping house. All puppies as well as our breeders are given love and attention through out the day.
